Do You Know Him Better

I can’t believe its December another year has slipped away
It seems like I was taking down this tree just yesterday
Another busy frantic season all my presents bought and paid
Am I closer to the reason that we celebrate this day

Do you know Him better than you did last year
Is your song a little brighter filled with Christmas cheer
When you hear joy to the world does it make you want to sing
Does your heart so long to celebrate the season
Are you walking talking captivated with the reason
Sing glory in the highest it’s Christmas time again

Finally sitting by the fire thinking back on what has been
My life begs the question what is lasting in the end
Has my purpose been to serve Him to share His gift with all my friends
Will I know and love Him better when Christmas comes again

When the celebration of His birth has come and gone
Let us live our lives to know Him all year long

Angels From The Realms Of Glory

Angels from the realms of glory wing your flight o’er all the earth
Ye who sang creation’s story now proclaim Messiah’s birth

Come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King

Shepherds in the fields abiding watching o’er your flocks by night
God with man is now residing yonder shines the infant Light

Saints before the alter bending watching long in hope and fear
Suddenly the Lord descending in His temple shall appear

Glory In The Highest

Another evening another star-filled sky
The shepherds kept their watch into the night
The still of silence hung in the air
And the men grew restless as they waited there
Then silence vanished and the sky was bright as day
As the night resounded with the angels as they sang

Glory, glory in the highest peace on earth good will to men
Join with us and lift your voices praise the gift of heaven
Holy, Holy is the Baby Son of God and Son of Man
Come and worship Christ the Savior
Come behold the Great I Am

Another infant another mother’s joy
The wise men came to see her baby boy
They carried treasures for the little one
A royal offering for God’s only Son
In humble reverence they bowed before the Babe
And the greatest treasure was the worship that they gave

Angels We Have Heard On High

Angels we have heard on high sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply echoing their joyous strains

Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

Shepherds why this jubilee why your joyful strains prolong
Say what may the tidings be which inspire your heav’nly song

Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee Christ the Lord the newborn King

Traditional French Carol and Melody

Oh Holy Night

O holy night the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees O hear the angel voices
O night divine O night when Christ was born
O holy night O holy night O night divine

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by his cradle we stand
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here come the wise men from Orient land
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger
In all our trials born to be our friend
He knows our need to our weakness is no stranger
Behold your King before Him lowly bend
Behold your King before Him lowly bend

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name
Christ is the Lord O praise His name forever
His power and glory evermore proclaim
His power and glory evermore proclaim

What Child Is This

What child is this who laid to rest on Mary’s lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet while shepherds watch are keeping

This, this is Christ the King whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud the Babe the Son of Mary

Why lies He in such mean estate where ox and ass are feeding
Good Christians fear for sinners here the silent Word is pleading
So bring Him incense gold and myrrh come peasant, king to own Him
The King of Kings salvation brings let loving hearts enthrone Him

Daddy Won’t You Read It Againt

Family circled round the firelight snowflakes fall as it turns to night
And we sit together on another Christmas Eve
We read the story that started it all Close the Bible and say goodnight
And everyone makes their way to their beds
When a tiny hand slips into mine and I hear

Daddy won’t you read it again
Tell the story from beginning to the end
How the angels came to tell the shepherds that night
About a baby born in Bethlehem
Tell me about the men from afar
Following the light of a star
How they came to worship the newborn King
The one who came to change our hearts
Oh Daddy won’t you read it
Daddy won’t you read it again

Thirty years later the telephone rings dad I can’t make it there’s just too many things
But we’ll get together on another Christmas Eve
I read the story that started it all close the Bible and say a prayer
Then just as I turn to go up to my bed
I hear a knock at the door and he’s there and I hear

I Wonder As I Wander

I wonder as I wander out under the sky
How Jesus the Savior did come for to die
For poor orn’ry people like you and like I
I wonder as I wander out under the sky

When Mary birthed Jesus t’was in a cow’s stall
With wise men and farmers and shepherds and all
And high from God’s heaven a starlight did fall
And the promise of ages it then did recall

If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing
A star in the sky or a bird on the wing
Or all of God’s angels in heaven to sing
He surely could’ve had it ‘cause He was the King

Hark The Herald Angles Sing

Late in time behold Him come offspring of a virgin’s womb

Peace On Earth

Quiet your heart tonight know that the Lord is near
In the midst of the twinkling lights He can give Christmas cheer
Be still and gaze at Him Rest now and come again
To the place where your heart can meet your Maker your safe retreat

Peace on Earth proclaimed by angels long ago
Given by the Baby who came to make men whole
Emmanuel our God is with us in each storm
Our Savior came to us on Christmas morn

Hope in your Lord this day trials are hard to bear
Kneel before Him and pray cast on Him every care
He will give all you need Counselor Prince of Peace
Turn from your circumstance look to Him hope at last

God’s peace given to you
A gift to last your whole life through
